Liber shifts gears

And speaking of the Liber Quarterly, it is good to see that they have made it freely available on the web. It will be interesting to see if we now come across more references to it.
My colleague Ricky Erway has an article in the current issue. This provides an overview of the recent Shifting Gears report [pdf]. Ricky then surveys a range of initiatives which are looking at changing practices so that they can move special materials to the “surface of the web” more quickly and in greater volumes.
Incidentally, for those not familiar with it, Liber is the European association for research libraries.
