Library waySeptember 05, 2006 • Categories: Books, movies and reading ... , Libraries - systems and technologiesE41ST uses Flex 2, Amazon web services, and 'your public library' to connect an Amazon browsing experience with a look up in a local public library. E41ST is an attempt at making a corner of the web look the way I like to see it! Named after New York's East 41st Street (Library Way), it provides an integrated interface for Browsing (at Amazon)-and-Looking-up (at Library). The current version meets my basic needs, but I will continue to evolve it based on Feedback/Suggestions from likeminded people (must love libraries!). [Amit Gupta :: E41ST]In the terms used in these pages, this is connecting an Amazon discovery experience with a library location service. As I discuss elsewhere, I think that this scenario - played out in various ways - will become much more common. Related article: Related entries: Via Bill McCoy. |
