I wonder - the summary sounds eminently reasonable, but to me it seems that fundamentally the hidden (or the not so hidden gorrila)issue is about trying to maintain local OPACs and the associated IT and cataloging jobs.

Dealing with Clifford Lynch's questions makes more sense to me.
