Libraries of the futureApril 21, 2008 • Categories: Libraries - organization and services , MarketingI spoke at the JISC conference in Birmingham last week. It was at a session related to the JISC's Libraries of the Future initiative. A special supplement on academic libraries is appearing in the Guardian Newspaper to accompany the initiative. A range of topics is covered; the treatment is high level and journalistic, as you would expect. This is a nice achievement by JISC, as it puts a range of positive stories about libraries in front of the University community (where, in a note to non-UK readers, the Guardian has high penetration). Via eFoundations: Material from the supplement, covering information literacy, physical learning spaces, Library 2.0, business models, digitisation, users and librarians is already available on the Guardian Web site.
